Zachary Scott “Zach” Harding, 21, of Parsons died early Saturday morning, Nov. 5, 2011, near Erie from injuries sustained in a car-train accident.

He was born on July 24, 1990, in Parsons to Scott William and Rachael Lynn (Looney) Harding. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul and was a 2008 graduate of St. Paul High School.

He attended Labette Community College and Pittsburg State University. While attending PSU, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

For a time, he worked at Stafford & Westervelt Chartered CPA firm in Parsons.

He enjoyed camping, canoeing and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Kale Jacob Harding of Parsons; his mother and stepfather, Rachael and Ed Butler of St. Paul; his father, Scott Harding and his companion, Karen Jones, of Parsons; a brother, Alex Butler of St. Paul; three sisters, Alicia Harding of Springfield, Mo., April Harding of Parsons and Leah Butler of St. Paul; his maternal grandfather, Rodney Looney of Bartlesville, Okla.; maternal grandmothers, Mary Snow of Parsons and Katherine Butler Fasken of St. Paul; and his paternal grandparents, Chris and Mary Robinson of Parsons.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
