Elouise P. Dhooghe, 90, a longtime rural Parsons resident, died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Elmhaven West nursing home. She had been in failing health for nearly two years and entered the nursing home on Sept. 19.

She was born on May 4, 1921, at Pearsonia, Okla., to Earl and Pearl (Miller) Keyte. Because of her father’s work, the family lived in several places in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas during her early years.

On July 1, 1939, she married Aloysius A. “Bud” Dhooghe at Howard. They lived in rural Parsons after their marriage. Mr. Dhooghe preceded her in death on July 28, 1983.

Mrs. Dhooghe was employed at the J.C. Penney store in Parsons for 20 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She loved participating in senior citizen dances and attended these events several times weekly in various towns. In recent years, she enjoyed going to casinos and playing video poker.

Survivors include five sons, James E. Dhooghe and his wife, Betty, of Edmond, Okla., John E. Dhooghe and his wife, Jackie, David F. Dhooghe, Donald J. Dhooghe and his wife, Pam, all of Parsons, and Richard L. Dhooghe and his wife, Donna, of Rogers, Ark.; two daughters, Deborah A. Mosier and her husband, Kevin, and Janice M. Dulohery and her husband, Michael, all of Parsons; 14 grandchildren, Dr. Megan Dulohery of Rochester, Minn., Daniel Dulohery and his fiancee, Samantha Ramsey, of Pittsburg, Ryan Keyte Mosier, Matthew Kansorn Mosier, John Robert Dhooghe and his wife, Julie, Craig Caldwell and his companion, Kristen Story, and Casey Caldwell, all of Parsons, Toni Walker and her husband, Landon, of Little Rock, Ark., Samantha Hughes and her husband, Gary, of Heber City, Utah, Derek Dhooghe of Carl Junction, Mo., Jordan Dhooghe and Amanda Brockman-Herron and her husband, Kevin, all of Joplin, Emily Dhooghe of Carthage, Mo., and Joshua March and his wife, Trina, of Altamont; 13 great-grandchildren, Bryce Yarbrough, Julian Leon and Wesley Neal Caldwell, Kalli Sue Caldwell, Jaxon Dhooghe, Gary Hughes, Wyatt Hughes, Caden Michael Stark, Haley March, Bree March, Chance March, Paige March and Landon Brockman-Herron; a sister, Betty Shafer of Gresham, Ore.; and a sister-in-law, Beulah Dhooghe Owens of Parsons.

Others preceding her in death include a son, Michael A. Dhooghe, on April 30, 2005; and three brothers, Kenneth Keyte, Alvin Keyte and Lawrence Keyte, of Bend, Ore., who died on Aug. 31, 2011.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:30 p.m. today.
