WICHITA -- JoAnn Lindsay, 71, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at East Hampton Estates in Wichita.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1937, in Independence to Homer and Ruby (Willis) Graves.

She married Samuel C. Lindsay on Dec. 26, 1952. He preceded her in death.

She worked as an inspector for Beech Aircraft for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of Westside Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Green of Wichita; a brother, Houston Graves of Sheldon, Mo.; and three sisters, Marlene Murphy and Darlene Cummings, both of Sheldon, Mo., and Margie Yarbough of Arkansas.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Potts Chapel of Independence. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.

Friends may call at their convenience between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Westside Freewill Baptist Church and may be left at or sent to the funeral home, 122. S. Pennsylvania Ave., Independence, 67301.
