McCUNE — Sandra Sue (Samp) Dixon, 71, of McCune died at 7:43 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac.She had been ill for the past year.

She was born March 29, 1940, at rural McCune to Ralph and Evelyn (Harley) Samp. She graduated from McCune High School in 1958.

After graduation, she married Eugene Dixon. They later divorced.

Sandra lived her entire life on the family farm.

She worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and drove a school bus until she retired.

Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Nutt of McCune; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mila Dixon of McCune.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Regina Gaiser.

The service will be at 10 a.m. today at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg. Burial will be in McCune City Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to McCune United Methodist Church or Harry Hynes Hospice of Pittsburg. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. Fourth, Pittsburg, 66762.
