SPERRY, Okla. — Nancy Jean Patton, 59, Sperry, Okla., died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa.
She was born Jan. 1, 1959, in Oswego the daughter of Joseph A. and Ellen (Elsworth) Rhodes. She grew up in Edna and graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1969.
On Oct. 1, 1971, she married Joseph E. Wilson in Coffeyville. They later divorced.
On March 12, 2005, she married Gary Patton in Eureka Springs, Ark. He survives.
She worked for Wal-Mart in Sand Springs as an oversized load escort driver, and most recently was employed by Securitas/Verizon as a security guard.
She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Skiatook, Okla., and was also a member of the Cherokee Nation tribe. She enjoyed playing the piano, riding motorcycles and she was a great cook.
In addition to her husband, Gary, survivors include her mother, Ellen, of Edna; two children, Shelly Kingery and her husband, Jay, of Chanute and Matthew Wilson and his wife, Jennifer, of Garden City; ; seven grandchildren; two stepchildren, Elizabeth Sullivan and Leslie Givens; four stepgrandchildren; three brothers, John Rhodes, Mark Rhodes and Philip Rhodes; three sisters, Sue Sovereign, Sandra Nash and Naomi Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a niece, Lisa (Nash) Zook.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, 1000 S. Lombard, in Skiatook, Okla. Burial will follow in Osage Gardens Cemetery.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home.
