Paul J. Bogner, 82, of rural Parsons died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1928, in Mount Hope to John and Rosalia (Grassl) Bogner. He grew up and attended school in the Andale area and was a 1946 graduate of Andale High School. 

He married Roberta H. Orth on Oct. 21, 1950, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Andale. They continued to live in the Andale area until moving north of Parsons in 1971 to farm and raise cattle. 

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons and the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his lifetime, he had served on numerous boards and committees. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include five sons, Dr. Paul F. Bogner of Newton, Wayne Bogner of Avon Park, Fla., Dale Bogner and Brian Bogner, both of Parsons, and Dr. Kent Bogner of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Bogner, on Feb. 27, 1994; eight brothers; and two sisters.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, where the family will receive friends immediately following the rosary.
