TYRO — Doris M. “Dody” Tidwell, 68, of Tyro died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Windsor Place nursing home in Coffeyville. She had been in failing health.

She was born on July 24, 1942, at Oswego to Clifford “Cap” Lawson and Hallie M. (Carlton) Lawson. She grew up and attended school in the Altamont area and graduated from Labette County High School there.

She worked for more than 20 years as a ward clerk and pharmacy technician at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books and Elvis memorabilia.

She married Alan Tidwell on May 1, 1981, at Miami, Okla. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Monte Campbell and his wife, Debbie, of Coffeyville and Brian Taylor and his wife, Dawn, of Middleburg, Fla.; three daughters, Tina Campbell of Tyro, Wanda Tidwell of Caney and Cami Ferguson of Coffeyville; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Friends may call there after 1 p.m. today. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Altamont.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation and may be left at the funeral home.
