ARKANSAS CITY — Jerry Stover, 72, of Arkansas City died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at his home.

He was born on July 13, 1939, in Arkansas City to Hiram and Irene (Buzzi) Stover. He was a 1957 graduate of Arkansas City High School and a 1959 graduate of Arkansas City Junior College.

He married Mona Janelle Cameron on April 14, 1958. In Parsons, Stover operated Jerry’s Donut Shop from 1961 to 1981.

Survivors include his wife of the home; seven children, Jerry Stover of Independence, Phillip Stover, Stanley Stover, Troy Stover, Tracy Stover, all of Wichita, and Renee Luder and Woody Stover, both of Arkansas City; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers; and four sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Helena Frazee.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 2500 N. 15th, Arkansas City. Burial will be in Springside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home and Crematory in Arkansas City.

The family suggests memorials to the worldwide preaching work of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
