WINFIELD — Graham Phillip Frazier, 44, of Winfield passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at William Newton Memorial Hospital after a seven-month battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 5, 1967, in Winfield the son of Stephen and Emily Frazier. He was a 1985 graduate of Winfield High School and graduated in 1990 from Southwestern College in Winfield. He was named to all conference basketball teams in high school and college.

He married Jana Nittler in Arkansas City in 1995. The couple had one son, Stephen Kody Frazier.

Mr. Frazier worked for the city of Winfield since 1986 and has been the operational fleet services coordinator since 1999. He and his wife own and operate Frazier Farms, a diversified angus cattle and grain operation near Winfield.

He was an active member of the community and served on the board of directors of the Cowley County Livestock Association, Cowley County Farm Bureau and Rural Water District 3. He was serving on the board of directors of the Valley Coop and Cowley County Extension Executive Board. Graham and his family were selected as the Cowley County Farm Bureau Farm Family of the year for 2011.

Survivors include his wife of the home; his son, Kody Frazier of Winfield; his brothers, Kendal Frazier and his wife, Cindy, of Centennial, Colo., and John Frazier and his wife, Linda, of Altamont and their daughters, Kendra and Christa; his sister, Jane Frazier of New York City; his cousins, Donnie Andersen and his wife, Becky, of Wichita and their children, Stephen, Chris and Katie, David Andersen and his wife, Jerry, of Kingman, and their family; his aunt, Ruth Jean Andersen of Anthony; his wife’s parents, Jan Nittler of Arkansas City and Beverly Manuszak and her husband, J.T., of Wichita; his wife’s sister, Danni and her husband, Bodie Wilson, of Arkansas City and their children, Braylon and Haleigh; his wife’s brother: Jason and his wife, April, of Arkansas City and their children, Sidney and Brice; his wife’s grandmother, Polly Ann Nittler of Medicine Lodge; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Frazier and son, Jeremy; and many nieces and nephews.

Graham was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Emily Frazier; a brother, Farley Frazier in 2006; his nieces, Angela and Erica Frazier; an unborn child; and his wife’s grandfather, Bert F. Nittler; and wife’s grandmother, Winifred Rader.

A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Winfield High School Auditorium. All attendees are invited to attend a meal and reception in the high school cafeteria immediately following the service. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Union Graham Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.

Memorials have been established in Graham’s name for the American Cancer Society and for his son, Kody Frazier’s college education. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
