CHERRYVALE — Jean Ann Boss, 82, of Cherryvale died Friday, June 10, 2011, at her home.

She was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Lyons to David J. and Loubelle (Groat) Evans. She graduated from Fredonia schools.

Mrs. Boss worked at Automotive Control Corp. in Independence before retiring.

She married Merlyn L. Boss on May 17, 1947, in Yates Center. He died in February 2004.

Survivors include five sons, Mike Boss of McAlester, Okla., Joe Boss of Fredonia, Gregg Boss, Randy Boss and Gil Boss, all of Cherryvale; three daughters, Merle Jean King, Cindy Hooper, both of Cherryvale, and Patti Hollingsworth of Springdale, Ark.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Speaks of Fredonia.

The celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Cherryvale. Burial will be in Morehead Cemetery at Morehead. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale.

The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church in care of the church or the funeral home.
