Addie Cook, 99, a longtime Parsons resident, went to be with the Lord at 8:10 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Bluejacket, Okla., to William and Estella (Samples) Pasley. She grew up and attended school in Vinita, Okla.

She married Alfred Estle Manners of Parsons and they farmed at the same location east of Parsons for 41 years. Estle preceded her in death on March 15, 1973. She married Elda Cook later. He died in 1982.

She was a longtime member of the Parsons Foursquare Church and had taught Sunday school classes there for years.

Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie Larsen and her husband, Melvin, Mertie Riepe and Linda Dessenberger and her husband, Larry, all of Parsons; a son, Alfred Manners and his wife, Nancy, of Parsons; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie Manners of Parsons; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son, Kenneth Manners; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to either Neosho Township Fire Department or the Foursquare Church scholarship fund. These may be left at the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons.
