She was born on Oct. 27, 1914, at Springvale, Minn., to John E. and Hulda (Johnson) Lundstrom.
In the 1930s and early ’40s, she worked in nursing at Milwaukee General Hospital and Milwaukee Sanitorium. From 1942 to 1945, she was employed at a medical office in San Gabriel, Calif. She worked at the Jones Store in Prairie Village from 1961 until her retirement in 1977.
She married Hollis Sawtell in October 1945, and they moved to Prairie Village in 1950. Mr. Sawtell preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1983. After his death, in 1987, she moved to Parsons.
Mrs. Sawtell was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sports, traveling, reading and working with flowers.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by an infant twin sister, three sisters and two brothers.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family members will greet friends at the funeral home for 30 minutes prior to the service. Friends may also call at the funeral home to register on Friday.
