He was born on July 16, 1953, at Hobart, Okla., to Marvin C. and Helen L. (Mitchell) Moser. He grew up in Oklahoma and in Iowa and graduated from Greene Community High School at Greene, Iowa. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Iowa State University.
He had been employed at several automobile dealerships as a salesman, including Mayse Automotive Co. in Parsons.
Del was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed mowing his lawn and listening to country music. He also loved being with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
On Oct. 29, 2003, he married Helen Hernandez in Parsons.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Moser, of the home; two sons, Steven Jones of Independence and Jimmy Moser of Charles City, Iowa; two daughters, Amanda Kmiec of Erie and Amy Torres of Charles City, Iowa; three grandchildren; his father, Marvin Moser of Charles City, Iowa; a brother, Dennis R. Moser of Indiana; and two sisters, Jeannie Marie Alizadehasl of Florida and Peggy Jo Moser of Indiana.
A brother, Michael C. Moser, preceded him in death.
The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Fort Scott National Cemetery with military honors. The parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home, with visitation to follow.
