CHERRYVALE — Denver E. Tincknell, 91, of Cherryvale died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born Dec. 16, 1919, in West Cherry Township, Montgomery County, to James David and Iva Myrtle (Jones) Tincknell. He attended Cherryvale schools, including two years at Cherryvale High School.
He served in the military during World War II.
He married Maxine Lousina Littell on Feb. 15, 1946. She preceded him in death Dec. 12, 1972. He worked various jobs over the years, including a stint at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons.
Survivors include a daughter, Lousina Mishler; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Delmar Eugene Tincknell; and four brothers, Virgil, Allen, Cecil and Howard.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery at Cherryvale. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale.
The family suggests memorials to Cherryvale United Methodist Women and these may be left with the funeral home.
