OSWEGO — Nadine Ruth (Raetz) Russell, 78, of Oswego died Friday, April 8, 2011, at her home following a nine-month battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 30, 1932.

She married Jesse Lee Russell on Dec. 5, 1949, in Oswego. She was a USD 506 bus driver at Bartlett for 20 years. They farmed for 59 years.

Survivors include four sons, John and Mary, Jim and Rena, Oswego, Jerry and Edie, Chetopa, Jay and Missy, Oswego; two daughters, Judy and David McGuinness, Norman, Okla., and Janice and Jeff Tullis, Pryor, Okla.; 17 grandchildren, Jeff, Jason, Jessica, Jena and Julie, Jeanette and Jordan, Tim, Jesse, Ryan, Joseph and Jacob, Jerad, Justin, Emily, Joel and Jenna; 12 great-grandchildren, Rachelle Kirstien, Justin, Josh and Jazen, Jordan and Jesse, Jaya and Jolee, Brynn, Joshua and Jackson; and three great-great-grandchildren, Jorlen, Jayden and Paityn; and a sister, Billie Mosler, Grove, Okla.

She was preceded in death by a infant daughter in 1959; her husband, Jesse, in 1997; a son, Joe, in 1977; a great-grandson, Boyce Moreno, in 1996; a granddaughter, Jennifer Russell, in 1997; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Grace McGuinness in 2006.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mitchell Cemetery north of Oswego. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.

The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or USD 506, in care of the funeral home.
