She was born in Queens, N.Y. She had Irish ancestry, her mother being from County Cork, Ireland. Her father, Thomas, was born in Wales.
She had a career with Lockheed Martin Corp. for some 30 years, much of the time working with a top secret security clearance.
She spent several retirement years as a resident of Parsons and Cherryvale with her husband, Larry.
She had a great love for animals, especially dogs, and had many furry companions during her life. She always dressed well and had great fashion sense. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needlework. She had a great sense of humor and would often have everyone laughing. She will be missed.
Maude is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Rohloff and her husband, Gaylord, of Camarillo, Calif., and Clare Adamson and her husband, Stan, of Broomfield, Colo.; a son, Robert Mayer of Bellflower, Calif.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary (Austin) and Thomas Owen; her sister Edith; her brothers, Tommy and Johnny; her niece, Marion; and husbands, Joseph K. Mayer and Lawrence Callier.
Private interment will be at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach, Calif.
