She was born on Nov. 22, 1926, in St. Paul to Oliver and Ethel (Worm) Richard. She was a lifetime resident of the Southeast Kansas area. She attended schools in the St. Paul/Erie area.
Ethel married Tony Bole on Nov. 25, 1950, in Columbus. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1975.
She was the cook at West Mineral schools for more than 20 years.
Ethel was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Khalifeh and her husband, Cyrus, of Joplin; four sons, Randy Bole and his wife, Joyce, of Scammon, Brad Bole and his wife, Cindy, of McCune, Chris Bole and his wife, Susan, of Cherokee and Craig Bole and his wife, Tami, of Columbus; a brother, Carl Richard of Joplin; two sisters, Collen Belt of Topeka and Mary Belle Tallman of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon with the Rev. Chrysostom Ah Maung as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Scammon. The parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, where the family will receive friends following until 8 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
