He was born on March 13, 1957, in Parsons to Charles and Helen (Watts) Bevins. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons and was a 1975 graduate of Parsons High School.
In younger years, he worked at the Parsons Country Club and Bailey’s Food Market. At the age of 18, he began his 34-year employment at the M-K-T Railroad, now the Union Pacific Railroad, where he was employed as a switchman.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and collecting cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Charles “Charlie” and Helen Bevins of Parsons; a sister, Judy Tedstrom of Tulsa; a sister-in-law, Ann Bevins of Joplin; his companion, Beth Green of Parsons; two nieces, Kim Morrow of Tulsa and Tina Slagle of Owasso, Okla.; a great-nephew, Landon; and five great-nieces, Christina, Karmen, Allie, Zoe and Kaley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Bevins; and a nephew, Cord Bevins.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial of the cremains will be at a future date at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons.
