Edith L. (Riley) Rosenstiel, 72, of Parsons died at 2:34 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at her home. She had been in failing health.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1938, on the “Big Island” in rural St. Paul to Pearl and Goldie Hazel (Beery) Riley. She grew up and attended elementary school near St. Paul and later attended McCune High School. For a time, she was employed at Fred Ronald Manufacturing in Parsons.

She married Dennis M. Rosenstiel on Aug. 6, 1977, in Wichita. Following marriage, the couple lived in Wichita until returning to Parsons in 1991, where they have lived since. He survives of the home.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Parsons. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, NASCAR, reading and baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Other survivors include six sons, Raymond Rosenstiel and his wife, Andrea, of Salt Lake City, Scott Rosenstiel and his wife, Nikkii, of Parsons, Rod Sanders of Tulsa, Rick Sanders and his wife, Debbie, of Wichita, Russell Sanders of Parsons and Stuart Sanders and his wife, Kim, of Martinez, Calif.; a daughter, Jennifer Sheldon, of Port Angeles, Wash.; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; two brothers, Loren Riley of Erie and Ronald Lockwood of Tyler, Texas; and a nephew, Ron Riley of Erie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister and a son, Riley Rosenstiel, on Feb. 1, 2004.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
