CHETOPA -- Katherine Littlejohn, 77, of Chetopa died at 11:18 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Chetopa Manor nursing home.

She was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Parsons to Bert and Goldie (Reno) Martin. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons and was a graduate of Parsons High School.

For a time, she worked as a teacher's aide at Lincoln Elementary School in Parsons.

She was an avid collector of Hallmark ornaments and a member of the Hallmark Collector's Club. She also was an accomplished painter and was known for her tole paintings. In earlier years, she attended Church of the Nazarene in Parsons and most recently had attended First Christian Church in Chetopa.

She married Walter Littlejohn on Oct. 19, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark. He survives of the home.

Survivors also include a daughter, Tina Littlejohn of Fairway; a brother, Jack Martin of Parsons; and two sisters, Ruby Elliott and Betty Horton, both of Parsons.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. Burial will be Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
