He was born Feb. 12, 1975, in Leavenworth to James L. "Jim" and Mary E. (Habjan) Cashero. He attended schools in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School with the Class of 1993. He later attended Pittsburg State University for one year.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy. While serving, he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Battle "E" Ribbon. He was stationed on the USS Gunston Hall. He was honorably discharged on April 16, 1995, as an SN.
He worked for Superior Industries in Pittsburg, in manufacturing, for 10 years. He was working for Columbian TecTank Industries in Parsons, as a laborer for the past year.
Survivors include his parents, Jim and Mary Cashero of Pittsburg; four brothers, Mike, Mark and J.D. and his wife, Farrah, and Tim Cashero; a sister, Teresa Jones; and eight nieces and nephews, Jeff, Mark and Logan Jones, Hunter and Callie Cashero, Tanner Danley and Matty and Ellie Cashero.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Leona Cashero and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Mary Habjan.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with the Rev. David Marstall as celebrant. Burial will be at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott with a flag presentation by the United States Naval Funeral Honor Guard.
