She was born on March 4, 1929, to Louis and Lucy (Kastler) Moore in Labette County. She grew up in Labette County and received her education in Edna, where she attended Edna High School. She completed her education and graduated from Labette County Community High School.
Dorothy started working for Edna Bank as a young woman, when the bank was in the old building and was called First National Bank. She continued to work as a bank cashier until she retired in April 1991.
On Nov. 10, 1972, she married Raymond Holt in Edna. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She was a member of Edna United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors of America. She served on the Edna Library board and was a library supporter for many years.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Cheryl Wells and her husband, Tad, of The Woodlands, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Colleen Merwarth; and a granddaughter, Christina Joy Wells.
The service will be at 10 a.m. today at Edna United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lane Roberts and the Rev. Dean Knewtson officiating. Burial will be in North Edna Cemetery. Visitation was on Sunday and Monday at David W. Barnes Funeral Home, Coffeyville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Edna Library or Coffeyville Friends of Animals. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, 67337-1207.
