She was born on Jan. 7, 1924, at Ottawa to Harry Standly and Athey (Wilks) Chalmers. She grew up in Ottawa and Peachtree, Ga.
On March 15, 1941, she married Jack W. Yandell. The couple settled in Junction City, where her two daughters were born. When Mr. Yandell went into the service in 1944, she moved to Parsons. Mr. Yandell preceded her in death on March 9, 1970.
She married Clifford Post on July 11, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2006.
She was a member of the former Washington Avenue Methodist Church at Parsons. In more recent years, she attended Bible Holiness Church at Altamont.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia M. and Don Rasmussen of Chetopa; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gloria Mae Buntje of Ivanhoe, Minn., and Mickie Atkinson of McPherson.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vivian Lucille “Susie” Templeton; a brother, Carl Standly Chalmers; and a sister, Dorothy Scritchfield.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bible Holiness Church at Altamont. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Carson-Wall Funeral Home at Parsons.
