LCC men fall short at Hutch
HUTCHINSON — A big second half led Hutchinson past Labette 91-64 on Wednesday night in a non-conference men’s basketball game.
Seventh-ranked Hutch scored 53 points in the second half to knock off the Cardinals.
LCC stayed close early. The Blue Dragons led 22-16. But the hosts then went on a 10-2 run to pull away.

Several athletes from Parsons and Labette County High Schools were recognized on the 2012 All-Southeast Kansas League Football Team.

Raiders, Rams picked to win CNC
PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Frontenac Raiders and Riverton Rams were the girls and boys basketball coaches top choices, respectively, in the CNC League Preseason Polls announced Monday afternoon.

Shawnee Phillips did a little bit of everything as the Labette Community College women’s basketball team knocked off the Oklahoma Wesleyan JV team 72-39 on Thursday night.
