LCC players named to all-conference team
Two members of the Labette Community College men’s basketball team were listed on the 2012-13 All Jayhawk East Team.
Anthony Elechi was a second team all-league selection. The 6-8 freshman averaged 11 points and eight rebounds per game.
LCC sophomore point guard Eddie Williams was an honorable mention team all-Jayhawk East pick. The 6-3 Williams scored 13 points per game, to go along with 139 assists and 52 steals.

PHS Tennis: Vikings have goals set high

It may not feel like spring outdoors just yet, but the season is here for the Parsons High School boys tennis team.
The Vikings will begin the 2013 season today with a meet at the Forest Park courts. The action begins at 3 p.m.

LCC baseball drops two of three to Coffeyville
The Coffeyville Red Ravens took two of three from the Labette Community College baseball team over the weekend.
The teams split a doubleheader on Friday and Coffeyville won on Saturday before the series finale was postponed due to the wet weather.
The final contest of the four-game series will be resumed on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Parsons with Coffeyville leading 6-0 in the fourth inning.

The Labette Community College softball team is now 4-0 in league play after sweeping doubleheaders from Allen County and Johnson County.

MANHATTAN — Meade is the top seed in Class 2A for a reason.
The Oswego Indians got in a big hole early, and could never recover in an 80-43 loss to Meade in the first round of the Class 2A State Basketball Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Bramlage Coliseum on the campus of Kansas State University.

ARK CITY— The Labette Community College baseball team dropped four games to Cowley on Sunday and Monday.
Cowley defeated LCC 4-1 and 1-0 in the first doubleheader on Sunday.

Missouri wins Mo-Kan Challenge

For the first time in the event’s brief history, Missouri won the Mo-Kan Wrestling Challenge.
Missouri’s all-stars defeated the Kansas team 53-13 on Monday night at Labette Community College.
It was the first loss for the Kansas team in four years, after the hosts won the event in its first three years.

Jared Hawks was an honorable mention pick at 152 pounds and Dakota Lewis was the honorable mention selection at 220. At all weights, only two wrestlers from each weight class are listed as all-league.

OSWEGO — The turning point of the season came at Girard.
The Oswego High School boys basketball team was trailing the Class 4A Trojans by nine points in the second half.

ARMA — The Oswego Indians are state bound.
Oswego’s boys basketball team defeated West Elk 48-35 in the championship game of the Northeast-Arma Class 2A Sub-State on Saturday night.
