Lady Vikings, Indians compete at state meet
TOPEKA — The Kansas Class 5-4-3-2-1A State Swimming and Diving Championships were held Friday and Saturday in Topeka. Three athletes from Parsons High School and two from St. Paul High School competed alongside the state’s best. The Oswego High School softball team will have to face the number-one seed right away at the Class 2-1A State Softball Tournament. The Indians are seeded eighth with a record of 8-10. The St. Paul Indians are the top seed in the Class 2-1A State Baseball Tournament. The Indians are now 14-2 on the season. Chanute wins SEK League's all-sports award
Chanute is the winner of the 2012-13 Martin Rohde Southeast Kansas League All-Sports Award. This is the second time that Chanute has won the award. Labette Community College sophomore basketball player Ashley Lutz will continue her athletic and academic career at Barry University, a NCAA Division II school in Miami Shores, Fla.
