MIAMI, Okla. — Chetopa High School’s boys basketball team will play for fifth place today in the NEO tournament here.
The boys lost by a point, 42-41, to Wyandotte, Okla., Thursday and defeated Commerce, Okla., 46-26 here Friday. Chetopa will play the winner of Welch, Okla., versus Afton, Okla.

Burlington teams get past Chargers
CHERRYVALE — The Cherryvale Chargers struggled to score on Friday night, losing to Burlington 59-25.
Cherryvale kept up with Burlington on the boards, getting outrebounded by just 27-24, but the Chargers made only 23 percent of their shots from the field and 52 percent from the free throw line.

ARMA — St. Paul High School teams swept Northeast here Friday night.
The St. Paul boys won 61-35. The St. Paul girls won 53-19.

OSWEGO — The Oswego High School boys basketball team defeated Altoona-Midway here Friday night 60-25.
Oswego swarmed to an early lead in the first quarter and built a comfortable 38-7 lead by halftime. Altoona scored nearly half of its points in the third quarter (12 points) but never threatened.

The Parsons High School wrestling team will see plenty of solid competition on Saturday at the SEK Invitational Wrestling Tournament at Chanute High School.
The all-day event begins at 9 a.m. There are 15 teams competing at the event, with some of the best programs in Kansas represented, from Class 6A down to 3A. Individually, many state or even nationally-ranked wrestlers will be in attendance.

COFFEYVILLE — Nationally-ranked Coffeyville withstood every Labette run and pulled away late in a 73-62 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday night at Nellis Hall in a showdown of league leaders.
The seventh-ranked Red Ravens not only withstood every big shot LCC’s men hit — they responded back each time with one of their own.
