The Kansas Basketball Coaches' Association has announced its all-state and all-star selection. The KBCA All-Star game will be held on Aug. 2 in Topeka at Lee Arena on the campus of Washburn University. Big Hill Lake saw one of the largest tournaments in its history as District 58 of the American Bass Anglers in Southeast Kansas held its second tournament for the 2012 season there Saturday. The Labette County High School junior varsity baseball team swept Coffeyville Monday evening to improve to 5-1 overall. Labette took the first game 16-0 before winning game two 14-4. The team met with Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and were recognized during house and senate sessions. The 2011-2012 Cardinals wrestling team brought the NJCAA wrestling championship back to Parsons late February. It was the team's second national title. LCC head coach Joe Renfro was also named the NJCAA Coach of the Year this season.
