INDEPENDENCE — The Labette County High School wrestling team dropped two SEK League duals on Thursday night.

BURLINGTON — The Parsons High School wrestling team traveled to Burlington on Thursday to take on the host Wildcats and the Cherryvale Chargers in a non-league double dual.

Jason Beach Night at LCHS is Tuesday
USD 506 will be having a special night for Jason Beach. Half of all gate receipts at the Labette County vs. Chanute basketball game on Tuesday, Jan. 29 will be donated to Beach and his family for their travel, lodging and other expenses while they stay with Jason in the Springfield Medical Center. The Parsons High School wrestling team will see plenty of solid competition on Saturday at the SEK Invitational Wrestling Tournament at Chanute High School.

Cardinals fall to ranked Red Ravens

COFFEYVILLE — Nationally-ranked Coffeyville withstood every Labette run and pulled away late in a 73-62 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday night at Nellis Hall in a showdown of league leaders.
The seventh-ranked Red Ravens not only withstood every big shot LCC’s men hit — they responded back each time with one of their own.

The Coffeyville Community College women’s basketball team never trailed in a 70-34 rout of Labette Community College on Wednesday night.
The Red Ravens scored the first nine points of the game, and then later used a 20-2 run to take a 25-point lead before halftime against the short-handed Lady Cardinals, who had just seven players available for the game.

The Parsons High School wrestling team picked a lot of mat time last Friday during the Parsons Wrestling Tournament.

Allen County used a big second half to knock off the Labette Community College women’s basketball team 61-50 on Monday night.
LCC’s women held a 22-21 lead the half, but the Red Devils outscored the Cardinals 40-28 in the second half to get the win.
With the loss, the LCC women are now 9-9 overall and 2-4 in the Jayhawk East.

That’s how the Coffeyville Interstate Classic went for the Parsons Vikings.
