Season ends for LCC basketball
Jonathan Raney called it a disappointing end. Raney’s Labette Community College men’s basketball team saw the season end on Saturday with a 54-50 loss to Cloud County in the first round of the Region VI Tournament. ARMA — The Oswego Lady Indians fell one win short of a 2A sub-state championship appearance in Arma as they lost to Pleasanton Friday night. Oswego pulled ahead by the end of a low-scoring first quarter 6-5, but Pleasanton scored 19 points in the second and took a 24-12 lead into the break. Oswego scored just two points in the third. The 54-43 loss in the Colgan Class 3A sub-state tournament ends Erie’s season. Riverton roared to a 20-8 lead after one quarter. The Parsons High School boys basketball team went 3-18 in 2012-13. The season ended with Monday’s loss to Independence. The Vikings had wins over Baxter Springs, Frontenac and Chanute, which was the team’s lone SEK League victory.
