PHS swimmer gets two bids for state tourney
Parsons High School senior Alex Oas will return to the state swimming tourney once again after qualifying for two events at Wednesday's Inter-League Championships. Oas will swim the 200 medley and the 100 breaststroke with qualifying times of 2:19.48 and 1:09.56 in those events. The Labette Community College wrestling team will send all 10 weights to the NJCAA National Tournament for the second year in a row after the No.2-ranked Cardinals breezed to another NJCAA West/Central District title on Saturday. The Labette Community College baseball team’s trip to Seminole, Okla. scheduled for Saturday was cancelled due to weather. Five Labette County HS junior varsity wrestlers brought home medals from the 22-team Burlington Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.
