The Labette County School track team hosted the LCHS Invitational track and field meet Friday afternoon in Altamont.
The LCHS varsity girls were the highest-placing local team with 78 points, second behind first-place Chanute (126 points).
The LCHS JV boys also took second with 124 points, some 17 points behind the Comets.
Chanute also took first in the junior varsity girls and boys varsity division.

COLUMBUS — The Columbus Titans improved to 3-0 and dropped Parsons High School softball to 1-2 on the season Thursday with a sweep over the Lady Vikes here.
The Titans scored a pair of runs in the sixth inning to earn a 3-2 victory in game one.
Parsons led 1-0 after half an inning where Sierra Kemp singled and was doubled home from Sara Cruse.

HESSTON —The Parsons High School tennis team traveled to Hesston Tuesday for a tourney loaded with talent Tuesday.
The Vikings, ranked fifth in Class 4A, were joined at the Hesston Invitational by Smoky Valley and Hesston, who are ranked in Class 4A, Goddard, ranked in Class 5A, defending Class 3A champion Wichita Independent and Hutch Trinity, who is also currently ranked in Class 3A.
