Parsons High School tennis coach Jane Posch recently received the Southeast Kansas League boys’ tennis Coach of the Year honors for her efforts this season. Over 3,400 Kansas high schoolers will take part in the 2011 KSHSAA Track and Field Championships this weekend — 29 of those will be representing this area. Regional track meets took place Friday evening and the top four students in each event qualified for state track this weekend. Lady Vikes camp set
The Lady Viking Basketball Camp will take place from June 14-16 this year from 9 to 11 a.m. The camp will take place at the Parsons High School gymnasium and will be for student athletes at the high school level. The Parsons Babe Ruth 9-10 preseason tournament championship games scheduled for Monday were cancelled due to wet surfaces. The rescheduled games are set for Wednesday.
