The Ray Products Rockies defeated the Bowen Pharmacy Yankees 18-4 in Rookie League action Thursday evening at Winway Park in Parsons.
The Rockies got on the board early and often and scored five runs in the first, four in the second and another five in the third on the way to a 14-1 lead after three trips to the plate.

Cunningham wins weightlifting contest
Saturday, The Gym hosted the 3rd Annual Magman's Weightlifting Contest.
Their were three divisions in this year's contest.
Daniel Cunningham was the top lifter in the over 200-pound division. Cunningham lifted 1,595 pounds cumulatively over three dead lift attempts.
Cunningham also won the Biggest Arm Challenge, with his arms measuring 20 inches.
Brock Pease was second overall and Jeremy Henson placed third.

16-18s win 3 of 4 to open week heading into Friday, Saturday games
The Parsons Family Pharmacy 16-18 year old Babe Ruth baseball team swept Frontenac Wednesday evening at Marvel Park in Parsons.
A late surge won the first game for Parsons as the 16-18 year olds scored 10 runs in the final two innings to secure the victory.
Frontenac got on the board in the second inning and led 1-0 before Parsons scored its first run of the game in the third to tie things up.

Babe Ruth 13s split with Frontenac
The Parsons Power Flame 13-year-old baseball team split a home doubleheader with Frontenac in Winway Park Monday evening.
Power Flame dropped the first game 12-8.
The two teams scored four each in the first inning and Parsons scored two runs in the second and in the third to lead 8-5 after three.

The Bleacher Gear/KMH 14-15 year old Babe Ruth League team took on Columbus last Thursday in Winway Park and split the doubleheader in a pair of lopsided games.
Parsons hammered home 10 runs in the first inning of the opener on the way to a 23-8 win.
Columbus had opened a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the first but Parsons answered with 10 runs to take a substantial lead going into the second.

Carrillo fight to be shown at Parsons Roadhouse
Friday, the Parsons Roadhouse will hold a Pre Party/Fight Night event for Titan Fighting Championship 23, which will feature hometown fighter Andrew Carrillo on the card.

Dolphins take first in Pittsburg
The Parsons Dolphins Swim Team traveled to the Pittsburg YMCA Mickey Moback Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
The Dolphins took first place as a team and had three individuals take high honors in their age groups.
Drake Gilmore won the 13-14 year old boys' division, Kam Koester won the 10 and under boys' division and Larsen Koester won the six and under boys' division.

3 on 3 winners announced
The Labette County High School basketball team recently held the annual Gavin Carson Memorial 3 on 3 tournament.
Over 400 players have participated in the tournament over the past five years and it has raised $4,120. The donations go towards the Gavin Carson Memorial-USD 506 Foundation and a scholarship is given out annually to an LCHS senior boy or girl in Gavin's name.

Shaun Hill camp registration open
Registration forms are now available for the 2012 Shaun Hill Youth Football Camp sponsored by the Parsons Police Officers Association.
The Detroit Lions Quarterback will be in Parsons for the annual youth football camp on July 9 through the 11, at Parsons High School Practice Field, 3030 Morton.

LCHS lands three on all-state Class 4A softball team
The Labette County High School softball team landed three players on the all-state Class 4A team, which was released by the Kansas Softball Coaches' Association Thursday.
LCHS seniors Kaysha Julich and Shelbie Foister made the first team while senior Kelsie Goins made second-team all-state.
Julich made the list as the first-team catcher, where she was joined by fellow Southeast Kansas League member MacKenzie Jackman of Fort Scott.

The Rangers defeated the Mets Monday evening in Rookie League Babe Ruth League action in Parsons.
The Rangers scored three runs in the first, four in the second and five in the third and fourth innings to open a 17-7 lead through four.

Grizzlies summer conditioning
Summer conditioning for seventh- and eighth-grade Grizzly football players will begin at 8:30 a.m. on June 11 in the Labette County High School Grizzlies weight room.
Each conditioning session will last approximately one hour.
Workouts will be three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Big Hill to host bowfishing state tourney
The Kansas Bowfishing Classic state championship will be held at Big Hill Lake on Saturday.
Check-in for the event is at 7 a.m. at the Timber Hill Boat Ramp with fishing beginning at 8 a.m.
The final weigh-in for the event starts at 4 p.m. Between 10 to 20 teams are expected.
Each team has two to three members and will be fishing along the shoreline and in boats across the lake.
