On Monday the Parsons Middle School Vikings had their first tournament of the 2010 wrestling season at Fredonia. The Vikings walked away placing seven out of 14 competitors. The Vikings were led by Kennan Dodd and Jumani Coleman, who both had first-place finishes. Rand Hurley, Dylan Misener, Anthony Morton, Jamel Nelson and Bryan Walker all earned second-place medals at the event.

All-SEK football teams announced
Southeast Kansas all-league selections for the 2010 football season were released this week. Pittsburg High School led the way with 12 selections on the all-SEK team while Independence added 11 and Chanute finished with 10 selections.
