ALTAMONT — The Labette County Grizzlies took first place in the varsity boys division on Thursday at the LCHS Invitational. Labette County finished with a team score of 100.5, and Iola was second with a score of 96. Garrett Britton earned two first place finishes for the Grizzlies, winning both hurdle events. LCC softball team hammers Fort Scott
The Labette Community College softball team had little trouble in taking two games from Fort Scott on Thursday. In the first game, Labette hammered Fort Scott 18-1 in five innings. In game two, LCC won 14-0, also in five innings. "We had a complete team effort today vs. Fort Scott," LCC Coach Ryan Phillips said. The Parsons High School girls swim team competed at Osawatomie on Wednesday. Sydney Markley finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a state consideration time of 28.86. The Labette County High School girls swim team took second place at the Coffeyville Invitational on Wednesday. Sydney Alloway took fifth in the 200 free and was fifth in the 100 breaststroke.
