The junior stepped to the plate with two on and the two out with the score tied at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning and ended up driving home the winning run to give Parsons a two-game split with the Fort Scott Tigers. LCHS JV golf finishes in fourth
The Labette County High School junior varsity golf team came away with a fourth-place finish in a tourney in Chanute on Monday. The team shot a 213 overall in the nine-hole tourney. Independence scored a 200 as a team to earn first while host Chanute shot a 207. Fort Scott rounded out the top three with a 209. Chase Berry of Independence won the event with a 46. Lion's club to host 11th annual 3 on 3 tourney in Altamont
The Altamont Lions Club will hold their 11th annual 3 on 3 basketball tourney at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 5 at Harrison Gymnasium at Labette County High School in Altamont. The Erie High School golf team placed second at the Marmaton Valley Golf Invite at Cedar Brook Golf Course in Iola on Monday. Due to a weather delay and eventual darkness, the event was shortened from 18 to nine holes of scoring.
