Cherryvale girls earn 51-19 victory
The Cherryvale High School girl's basketball team earned a 51-19 win over Humboldt Tuesday evening in Cherryvale.
The Lady Chargers went on a 17-2 run in the first quarter of play and never looked back. Cherryvale scored 48 points in the first three periods.

OHS comes from behind for win over St. Paul
OSWEGO — The Oswego High School boys improved to 8-10 overall and 4-4 in Three Rivers league with a 47-43 come-from-behind win over St. Paul High School Tuesday evening.
St. Paul moves to 8-9 overall and 4-3 in the TRL following the loss.
Oswego trailed 36-27 after three quarters of play but scored 20 in the final quarter to score the rivalry win.

Parsons held up its end of the bargain.
The Parsons High School girl's basketball team entered Tuesday at 4-0 in SEK play and a win away from a matchup between league unbeatens Friday.
It looked in doubt for a half, but that matchup will happen.

LCHS sweeps Chanute
CHANUTE — Labette County High School's boys basketball team defeated Chanute 67-43 here Tuesday night.
The Grizzlies led early and never gave up the lead throughout the game. After a quarter, Labette County was up 17-6 and continued to outscore Chanute in the remaining three quarters.

Humboldt defeats Chargers
HUMBOLDT — The Cherryvale Chargers fell behind early on Tuesday night and never recovered, losing 66-41 to Humboldt.
Humboldt took a 16-10 lead into the second quarter, when the team held the Chargers to six points for a 30-26 halftime lead. Cherryvale scored 16 points in the third quarter, but Humboldt racked up 23.

Erie Red Devils lose to Frontenac
ERIE — The Erie Red Devils struggled to find good shots on Tuesday night and fell to Frontenac 64-30.
"The Red Devils struggled to find the hoop tonight. Frontenac did a good job of containing defensively and making us shoot contested shots," Erie coach Caleb Reimer said.
"On the other side of the floor, we did not stop penetration very well tonight, and when a team can platoon five for five it's hard to keep up all night."

Oswego girls clinch title
OSWEGO — The Oswego High School girls' basketball team clinched the Three Rivers League title with a 42-26 win against St. Paul on Tuesday.
Oswego moved to 8-0 in the Tri-Valley and is guaranteed the top spot after having beaten second-place Uniontown for a possible tie-breaker.

The Parsons Middle School basketball teams hosted Independence for their final home game of the year Monday and came away with three wins in four games.
After being tied 4-4 after one, the seventh-grade B team scored 25 unanswered for a 29-6 victory.

Parsons Wrestling Club earns three trophies over weekend
The Parsons Wrestling Club had 20 participants in the Bulldog Classic in Independence on Saturday. The team had 18 of 20 place in the tourney, with six of those earning first-place medals.
All three wrestlers in the 10 and under division received first-place medals with Bradyn Holsinger leading the way. Holsinger received the outstanding wrestler trophy in the division for pinning each of his four opponents in the first period.

PHS swimmer gets two bids for state tourney
Parsons High School senior Alex Oas will return to the state swimming tourney once again after qualifying for two events at Wednesday's Inter-League Championships.
Oas will swim the 200 medley and the 100 breaststroke with qualifying times of 2:19.48 and 1:09.56 in those events.
He is seeded in the top 20 in both events entering the state tourney, including his 15th seed in the 100 breaststroke.

10 LCC wrestlers headed for nationals
The Labette Community College wrestling team will send all 10 weights to the NJCAA National Tournament for the second year in a row after the No.2-ranked Cardinals breezed to another NJCAA West/Central District title on Saturday.
Neosho County Community College hosted this year’s national qualifier. In total, eight teams competed at the event.

Lady Cards open season with 5-0 run through tourney
The No. 7-ranked Labette Community College softball team got off to a strong start with a 5-0 finish in the 2012 Cowtown Classic Invitational Softball Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas over the weekend.
The Cardinals began play on Friday with a 5-4 win over Hill College, a 7-2 win over Ranger College and an 11-8 win over Coastal Bend College.
On Saturday, Labette defeated North Central Texas College 6-3 and Paris College 12-11.

The Labette Community College baseball team’s trip to Seminole, Okla. scheduled for Saturday was cancelled due to weather.
The Cardinal’s next scheduled game is set for a 1 p.m. start on Wednesday in Parsons. A doubleheader with Evangel College is scheduled.

5 JV Grizzlies place in Burlington
Five Labette County HS junior varsity wrestlers brought home medals from the 22-team Burlington Wildcat Invitational on Saturday.

The Labette Community College men's basketball team lost its third game in a row 69-62 to Independence (13-11 overall, 8-4 KJCCC) on Saturday in Indy.
