The Labette Community College men's basketball team improved to 18-10 overall and 8-8 within the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Eastern Division with a 68-66 victory at Johnson on Saturday.

Gatewood places fifth at state tourney
Labette County High School senior Spencer Gatewood completed the Class 4A wrestling tourney in Salina with a fifth-place finish Saturday.

Labette wins national title
The Labette Community College wrestling team scored 161.5 points to dominate the field at the NJCAA National Wrestling Tourney in Rochester, Minn. over the weekend.
LCC was one of only three teams to break the 100-point mark at the national field and had 16.5 more points than No. 1-ranked Iowa Central College.

LCC leads national tourney after day one
The Labette Community College wrestling team is in position to capture its first national championship since 2005.
It all comes down to day two.
The Cardinals enter the final day of wrestling at the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships in Rochester, Minn. with a 1.5-point lead over No. 1-ranked Iowa Central Community College.

Grizzlies upset Tigers
FORT SCOTT — The Labette County High School boys defeated Fort Scott on their home floor here Thursday night, knocking the Tigers out of race for the SEK League crown. The Grizzlies won 60-55.
Three Grizzlies were in double figures and held most of Fort Scott's offense to a single player, who scored nearly half of the Tigers' points.

ST. PAUL — The St. Paul Indians started off their final regular season game of the year off right, but a Crest of Colony 20-point second quarter led to a home loss for St. Paul on Friday night.
