LCC baseball earns split with Coffeyville CC during weekend meeting
COFFEYVILLE — The Labette Community College baseball team earned a four-game split with Coffeyville Community College over the weekend in a pivotal Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Eastern Division series.
The two squads faced off in back-to-back doubleheaders here Saturday and Sunday with each team splitting on both days.

Sedan knocks off LCHS baseball in tourney finals Friday
SEDAN — The Labette County High School baseball team began its season Friday evening in Sedan with a doubleheader in a tourney hosted by the Blue Devils.
The Grizzlies opened the tourney with a 1-0 victory over Caney.

Three Rivers League releases postseason hoops team
Fifteen local athletes were named to the 2011-12 Three Rivers League team, which was released Thursday morning.
The list was highlighted by six girls on the all-TRL first team, including four Oswego High School players.

The Parsons and Labette County high school tennis teams started the 2012 boys’ season Tuesday at Forest Park in Parsons with a four-team meet hosted by the Columbus Titans.
