Kenneth and Shirley Lunday of Parsons celebrate their 40th anniversary this weekend. The couple were married Oct. 18, 1969, at Lawndale Mission Church in Parsons by the Rev. Rhan Bowen. Kenneth Alfred Lunday, who grew up in Erie, and Shirley Jane Brooks of Parsons were married after Mr. Lunday returned from his service in Vietnam. Main Street work Work began Wednesday on milling the road surface of Main Street from Central west to 22nd to prepare it for an overlay. The northbound lanes were to be done first, followed by the southbound lanes, with traffic restricted to one lane during the work. Work will continue today.
