O'Brien was named the Class 2-1A Pitcher of the Year by the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches. O'Brien finished the year 11-1 and helped the Indians to a third-place finish in the state tourney.

The camp focused on fundamentals in shooting, defense, passing and dribbling and had three divisions.
