Parsons firefighters spray water on hot spots in the attic of an apartment at 406 N. 30th Thursday afternoon. The occupant, Derek Ascanio, was not home when the fire was reported, which was around 3:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is considered to be electrical in nature, said Jay Hawks, Parsons battalion chief. No injuries were reported. A damage estimate was not available.
