Vincent Yanez celebrated his 85th birthday with a morning workout at the Parsons Golf & Fitness Center Monday. Yanez touts the benefits of getting a cardiovascular workout in at least two to three days a week. Doing so for the last three years has resulted in his health vastly improving, his energy levels increasing and it eliminating a number of medications he was having to take.

The event  Thursday night was one of several that Parsons High School football players competed in as part of the PHS Strong Man Competition, in which PHS football players competed against their won team members to see who was the strongest.

Members of the Parsons High School junior varsity and varsity football teams competed against one another in the  event, and other events,  to achieve the best time in their weight class. The evening of fun competition among the players ended with a barbecue dinner.
