The school celebrated the 50th day of school with staff and students dressed up in 1950s fashion, wearing poodles skirts, white T-shirts and rolled-up jeans. The students had a skating limbo contest and learned about life in the ’50s by watching old TV clips and playing games such as jacks, marbles and Mr. Potato Head. Some classes ate candy such as Boston Baked Beans, Bottlecaps, Sugar Babies, Lemonheads and wax bottles. At the end of the day, the kindergarten through sixth-grade classes joined each other in the gym for a sock hop.
