Unrolling and donning a frozen T-shirt was the first step for competitors in Briar's Amazing Race for Adults. The event is named after Blake's brother, Briar Palmer, who died in an automobile accident last year. His mother, Kandy Palmer, died from accident injuries as well.

Posch, who led the PHS boys' and girls' teams to a Southeast Kansas League title this year, was named the Class 4A boys' tennis Coach of the Year Saturday. The PHS tennis boys won the SEK title and finished third in the state in Class 4A in 2012.
