USD504 School Bond Question
Shall Unified School District No. 504, Labette County, Kansas (Oswego), issue general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $3,250,000, to pay the estimated $3,250,000 costs to (a) construct, furnish and equip (i) a new classroom addition to the existing District high school building, to allow such building to be used as a District middle school and high school, (ii) a storm shelter addition to the District elementary school, which will also house a media center and computer lab, and (iii) a storm shelter addition to the Service Valley Charter Academy; (b) remodel existing District facilities for safety and energy efficiency; and (c) make all other appurtenant improvements in the District; all pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 10-101 et seq.; K.S.A. 25-2018(f); K.S.A. 72-6761; and K.S.A. 75-2315 et seq.?
Mound Valley City Sales Tax Question
Shall a retailers’ sales tax in the amount of one-half of one percent (0.5%) be levied in the City of Mound Valley, Kansas, for the purposes of generating revenue to improve and maintain the public streets and such other general governmental purposes as may be in the best interest of the City, to take effect October 1, 2013.

A Public Demonstration of the Election System Software, Model 650 Ballot Scanner will be held Friday March 29, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Basement of the Labette County Courthouse

CLOSING OF REGISTRATION BOOKS
Pursuant to K.S.A. 25-2311(c), notice is hereby given that on the 12th day of March 2013 registration books for the City/School General Election will close at the end of the business day (last day to register to vote). The books will remain closed until the day following the General Election, April 03, 2013.
As of January 01, 2013 First Time Voters and Persons registering for the first time in Kansas must submit proof of Citizenship at time of registration.
You may register to vote at any of the following locations during their regular business hours: the Office of the County Clerk, Courthouse, Oswego; any City Clerk’s office; Department of Motor Vehicles; SRS offices, etc.; also available in Online Voter Registration: voteks.org – Vote Kansas – online voter registration – follow thru as directed.
A citizen of the United States who is eighteen (18) years of age and upwards, or will have attained the age of eighteen (18) years at the next election, must register before he or she may vote.
When a voter has been registered according to law his or her registration shall continue to be valid until one of the following occurs:
1. The voter changes name by marriage, divorce or legal proceeding.
2. The voter changes residence. If either of the above occurs, you must re-register. Any person may apply in person or by mail to the County Election Officer to re-register. The application shall be signed under penalty of perjury.
Any registered voter is eligible to vote by Advance Ballot, beginning Wednesday March 13, 2013 (20 days prior to said General Election) thru Monday Noon April 01, 2013. Applications for Advance Ballots are available at the Labette County Clerk/Election Office or by calling (620) 795-2138 or (620) 421-5255.
