Parsons police and Labette County Sheriff’s Department deputies participated in two days of rapid-response training for an active shooter.

Trey Turner, a San Antonio law officer, and firefighters from Fayetteville, Arkansas, conducted the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training at the Business Incubator Center in Industrial Park No. 1 in Parsons. The training was to help dispatchers, law enforcement, firefighters and ambulance service personnel work through active shooter scenarios so they can work and communicate better in case such a situation arises. A grant helped bring the training to Parsons.
