Patrick “Pat” Strait, 71, a lifelong Parsons resident, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
Lydia Ruth Tarver was born to Lowell Alvin Tarver Jr. and Velma Ree Jackson Tarver on July 28, 1956, at Mercy Hospital. She attended Garfield Elementary School, Parsons Junior High School, Parsons Senior High School and Labette Community College. She worked at Fred Ronald Manufacturing and Parsons State Hospital and Training Center to earn money for college. Lydia earned her bachelor of science degree in education from Evangel Bible College of the Assemblies of God Church in Springfield, Missouri. She continued studying until she received her master’s degree in special education.
Lorraine L. Davis, 89, passed away peacefully at home following the effects of a stroke. Lorraine was a strong-willed and intelligent woman who left her mark on both her family and community.
