Currans to celebrate 65th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Curran of Altamont will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Altamont United Methodist Church. The event is hosted by their children and their families.

L.D. Curran and Christine Spencer were married May 31, 1953, in Blue Mound. 

Mr. Curran was superintendent of Labette County USD 506 for 30 years before retiring. Mrs. Curran was a stay-at-home mother and a teacher. She is retired. They are members of the Altamont United Methodist Church and also have membership in the Altamont Lions Club and the United Methodist Women, among other organizations.

They have lived most of their married life in Altamont.

The Currans have two sons, Mike Curran and his wife, Donna, of Baldwin City and Steve Curran and his wife, Karen, of Girard. They also have five grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Ashley, Lisa and Hayden; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Emily, Mallory and Louis.

The public is welcome at the June 2 reception. The Currans request no gifts, but cards are welcome.
